Full Moon Rising – Above Seattle and the Space Needle

I decided to not take another trip up to Skagit and instead wait for the full moon for a shot from Magnolia Bridge.  Sony a7r and Zeiss 100-300mm lens.  This is how this shot was done: Two exposures, one for the moon and one for the city. City exposure was about 5 secs, f11, iso 200 at 200mm-ish. Moon exposure was about .3 secs, f11, iso 50. Both were remote release with a ankle weight sandbag on the camera to steady it. In LR, I set the white balance to make the legs of the space needle as white as possible. I then took both shots into Photoshop and arranged the city exposure on top of the moon exposure. I then created a simple mask, circular in shape to bring the moon details through.  http://www.mikereidphotography.com #spaceneedle
