Sony a7R High ISO Aerial Night Photography Over Seattle

So I’ve been curious how the a7r and 16-35mm f/4 combo would do at night from a helicopter. Last night I got to find out. I was very generously offered a ride in a Robinson R66 helicopter to capture sights around Seattle at night. My strategy was to adjust the focal length and iso to keep the shutter speeds above 1/200. Early in the evening, this was easy, later on it became harder. My shots were reasonably in focus but as the iso climbed, noise did too. My plan for the next time is to either rent the Sony high iso champion, the a7s or rent a faster wide angle like the Sony 28mm f2. http://www.mikereidphotography.com
