I am crazy about back lit maple leaves. Actually any fall colors leaves. I heard that back in the middle ages, churches told bible stories to parishioners using stained glass. They would walk into the church agape at the lights and colors. Its how I feel amongst the leaves, looking up.
Had the chance recently to fly around Mt Rainier and St Helens around sunset. I was really struck by how the devastation around Helens looked from the air. Sony a7r and Zeiss 16-35mm Mike Reid Photography #mtsthelens35years #mtsthelens
Leaving Phoenix with our $7 a day rental Corolla, we headed to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon for our first stop. I had visions of arriving at sunset which were soon clearly not going to happen. So we diverted to Horseshoe Bend, another place I had never been, for photos there. I knew my Zeiss 16-35mm would be an ideal lens for this spot and it was. www.mikereidphotography.com #a7r
I do the listing photography for a good friend of mine Matthew Skeel here in Seattle. Basically my goal is quick turnaround and images that will make his listings shine, even if I have to go back for a sunset/sunrise etc. My setup is my Sony a7r and Zeiss 16-35mm lens. I usually get it right in one shot but sometimes have to blend to get the dynamic range I am after. Then I use Lightroom 6 and Enfuse for a natural look. www.mikereidphotography.com #seattle
Staging is by Ellis Designs, who always does amazing work and in this case moved everything in at 2:30am in order to be ready for photos. Contact Pam at firstname.lastname@example.org
Drove down to Lake Tipsoo off of Highway 410 in Washington state a few nights ago to see how the lake was melting out. It was about 75% melted so I decided to stay for sunset and sunrise. Sunset colors were unimpressive, as was sunrise, but the real show was around midnight with the stars out. This shot was a 30 second exposure, f4, 16mm and iso 2000. www.mikereidphotography.com
My Zeiss 21mm has always been my go-to lens for real estate photography. I’m trying out the flexibility of the latest Zeiss zoom, the 16-35mm. These are two shot blends, created using Lightroom Enfuse. I like the natural look. I shot 35 images last night, finishing at 7pm and had them to the agent by 11pm. Woof
